I’m A Mazda Driving Soccer Dad - Seriously
Being a single parent to a pair of 7 year old twin boys isn’t anything like a walk in a park. Most notably so as its little league soccer season again. This year yours truly will be in charge of getting the team jerseys done.
Being one of just 3 male parents among 13 women in our team’s committee, it was quite a challenge to get most of the committee to agree not to change the team’s uniform color from red to a color in the pastel palette which I can’t pronounce. But as much as we tried, we were not met with success to change the team moniker to The Red Warlocks from The Red Flamingos.
After sourcing for jerseys, and believe it or not - team sponsors, I came to realize that our children’s soccer team did not have its very own logo. I touched on this concern of mine with the other two dads and we decided that it might be a an excellent idea if we had our own soccer team logo. So we came to a decision to create a logo each and show them to the committee.
The three of us convened the coming weekend with our designs and ended up having a laugh at ourselves, before we resigned to the fact that we weren’t born with creative minds. As it seems my Flamingo resembled a Woodpecker on questionable anabolic elements. The so called works of pure creative genius from the other 2 weren’t a whole lot better better. One could be mistaken for a work by Picasso and the other looked like bored doodlings from a ill-fated victim of a 4 hour long company meeting. But we went forward and handed the design drafts to the committee all the same.
Though the committee barred the 3 of us from designing anything that has to do with the club unless there is a blue moon, they did conclude that our little league soccer team should probably have its own logo. So I went back and did a search for logo design puerto rico, chose a handful of the more prominent design companies and gave them to the committee.
Now we are excited to say that our little soccer team has its own custom logo. We had logo patches made for the jerseys and team stickers produced for fun’s sake - thanks to a bit of sponsorship we got from the ice cream shop right beside the park. The team logo itself ended up looking really cool with a a bright red Flamingo standing on one leg and the other casually resting on a soccer ball looking like the real deal.
I heard from the little league grapevine that next year yours truly will be in charge of water based sustenance. I’m flirting with the idea of taking it up a notch and am already planning to talk to Red Bull about a sponsorship deal.
